Johnnie Brown has established a reputable name for himself, with tribute performances, honoring legends of R&B, Soul music that inspired his singing career, performing locally, throughout the twin cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis MN.
With re-occurring sold out performances, Johnnie brings to the BrownStone Jazz Clubs stage his tribute performance honoring the music of Gregory Porter
(born November 4, 1971) is an American singer, songwriter and musician. He has twice won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album: first in 2014 for Liquid Spirit and then again in 2017 for Take Me to the Alley.
This show will highlight Gregory’s most notable arrangements to date, as well as Johnnie’s versatility and an amazing Jazz arrangement, combined is sure to enhance the substance of Johnnie’s sound compliments to the musical genius of Gregory Porter.
