John Scofield's "Electrospective": UNCG Concert and Lecture Series

Introducing the Robinson Family Visiting Jazz Artists this 26-27 UCLS Season. A residency made possible by the Robinson Family Fund, the Robinson Family Visiting Jazz Artists established by Ward Robinson (’19 PBC Jazz, ’10 MPH) and Pamela Pittman, is bringing two jazz luminaries to UNCG’s School of Music this year. Guitarist John Scofield and Electrospective, and vocalist Carmen Bradford will come to Greensboro for residencies with students and concerts which will be open to the public.
In late autumn of 2026, John Scofield’s “Electrospective” looks back through his fifty-four-year career as a three-time Grammy Award®-winner with his now classic fusion groove compositions—revisiting rather than replicating earlier fan favorites with the seasoned perspective of several decades, culling tunes from his Blue Matter, Uberjam, and AGoGo bands—as well as new material in the same vein.
“Electrospective” will rely on interpretative input from Scofield alum and super funk drummer/producer Adam Deitch (Lettuce), multidimensional Larry Goldings (Scary Goldings, James Taylor) on keyboards, and legendary bassist Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Co., Tedeschi Trucks, Allman Brothers)—a band that will truly do the music justice.
