About this Event
John Pizzarelli has established himself as one of today’s premiere interpreters of the Great American Songbook. He is internationally known as a brilliant fretman with an intimate voice, utterly charming stage presence, and knack for uptempo swing.
Through his father and duo partner, Bucky Pizzarelli, John was immersed in the music of jazz luminaries Les Paul and Django Reinhardt from a young age, and soon earned frequent and well-founded comparisons to both. Pizzarelli's updated old-school sound caught the ear of many jazz purists early on. Notably, in 1993, the John Pizzarelli Trio opened various dates on Frank Sinatra's tour, eventually participating in the legendary singer's 80th birthday celebration at Carnegie Hall.
Pizzarelli has recorded more than twenty solo albums and has appeared on more than forty albums by other recording artists, including Paul McCartney, James Taylor, Rosemary Clooney, and many others.
Caffe Lena has returned to full capacity. In order to ensure everyone's safety we are now requiring proof of vaccination for all attendees.
