We are delighted to welcome novelist John DeDakis and poet Le Hinton to our December Wilde Readings event. We've moved to a wonderful new Columbia MD venue, Queen Takes Book in the Snowden Center while the Columbia Arts Center undergoes renovations. About our guests:
John DeDakis
John DeDakis is a former editor on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." DeDakis is the author of six novels in the Lark Chadwick mystery-suspense-thriller series. In Enemies Domestic, Lark is a pregnant White House press secretary forced to make an abort-or-not-to-abort decision in a highly toxic and polarized fishbowl—and deal with an attack on the presidency. DeDakis, a former White House correspondent, is also a writing coach, manuscript editor, and podcaster. www.johndedakis.com
Le Hinton
Le Hinton is the author of seven poetry collections including Elegies for an Empire (Iris G. Press, 2023). His work has been widely published and can be found in The Best American Poetry 2014, Pleiades, the Baltimore Review, Pittsburgh Poetry Review, the Skinny Poetry Journal, the Progressive Magazine, the Little Patuxent Review, One Art, the Summerset Review, and outside Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, incorporated into Derek Parker’s sculpture Common Thread.
Please spread the word - bring your friends, family, and students. All are welcome. We encourage you to participate in the open mic. Please prepare no more than five minutes of performance time/two poems. Sign up for the open mic in advance by filling out this online form: https://www.queentakesbook.com/wildereadings.
Light refreshments will be served. Books by both featured authors and open mic readers will be available for sale.'
