We are SO excited for autumn to begin! All of our staff have been chattering about it for weeks, so it's extra delicious that we get to celebrate its arrival with friends! Specifically, JOHN COY, whose new book, 'The Secret Of Fall', is a great way to kick off the season! He will be in conversation with another great friend of Wild Rumpus - MOLLY BETH GRIFFIN, who has a fall book of her own--'The Big Leaf Leap'!Join us for story time, crayon leaf rubbings, and autumnal fun as we usher in the crisp, cool air and brilliant colors of this delightful season!
And don't forget! The Linden Hills Fall Festival is happening just down the road in Linden Hills Park on the same day, so swing on by after story time!
To Attend:
This event is free and open to the public. Seating will be available on a first-come first-served basis.
Signing Guidelines:
Following the event, John & Molly will be available to sign copies of their books. If you are unable to attend but would still like a signed copy, you may order a copy from this page and we will ship after the event, or hold it behind the counter for local pickup. Please note in your order any personalization requests and we will do our best to accommodate. Orders must be placed by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 20th to guarantee signed copies.
AUTHOR BIOS:
JOHN COY is the author of middle-grade and young adult novels and nonfiction and fiction picture books. He has received numerous awards for his work including a Marion Vannett Ridgway Award, a Charlotte Zolotow Honor, a Bank Street College Best Book of the Year, and the Burr/Warzalla Award for Distinguished Achievement in Children's Literature. He lives by the Mississippi River in Minneapolis.
MOLLY BETH GRIFFIN is the author of several picture books including 'Ten Beautiful Things', 'Rhoda's Rock Hunt', and the newly released holiday book 'Just Us'. She has also published YA, beginning readers, and poetry. A Hamline MFAC graduate, she teaches writing for children at the Loft, critiques manuscripts, and hosts a monthly Picture Book Salon. Her hobbies include cooking, hiking, embroidery, taking pictures of birds, and waiting for the mail. She lives in South Minneapolis with her partner and their two children.
