Followers of the band will have seen the band name and line up change over the past 7 years, From John Angus Blues Band to John Angus Band, down to fans saying you are more rock than blues, so they dropped the blues title and repositioned themselves as simply John Angus Band. When they launched their latest album "It's High Time" in 2024 they felt that they needed an injection of new high energy songs with a blues influence and that has done really well with chart success for three months in the IBBA Blues Charts, in at 8

"The Meat" returns, Yes they delighted to welcome back their original drummer Pete "The Meat "Hopkins, solid as a rock and fired up to play their upcoming gigs in 2026. Legend has it that he was a butcher down South in the Smoke but we have heard other stories not to be repeated hear.
