Reception March 31, 5:00-7:00 pm Sergia Jimenez (b.2000, Carrboro, NC) is a multidisciplinary artist, DJ, producer, and student of Studio Art and Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Pulling from works of artists and writers such as Byung-Chul Han, Jenny Odell, Josef Stare, and Alexandre Lavet, and Joeri Woudstra, she focuses on concepts of ritual, repetition, hyperculture, boredom, and image addiction in the contemporary age. Her work spans music, noise, painting, drawing, sculpture, video, photography, poetry, and performance. Her collaborators include Noa Gulledge, @new.pretend.world, and Patty TBD. She is a member of the Triangle/NYC-based party collective PERMISSION and DJs under the moniker Everything.
Admission: Free
Gallery Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm
A weeknight or daytime permit is now required after 5:00 pm on weekdays. There is no permit needed from 5:00 pm Friday through 7:30 am Monday. A $1.00 one-night pass is available in selected lots. More information can be found at UNC Weeknight Parking.
