Johannesburg Pride takes place on Saturday the 28th October 2023.

Johannesburg Pride, also known as Joburg Pride or Jozi Pride, is an annual LGBTQ+ pride celebration held in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is one of the most significant pride events on the African continent, attracting thousands of people every year to stand together in support of LGBTQ+ rights and visibility.

The first Johannesburg Pride took place in 1990, making it the oldest and one of the most established pride events in Africa. Over the years, it has grown significantly in size and importance, playing a crucial role in promoting LGBTQ+ rights, acceptance, and inclusivity in South Africa and beyond.

Held every year around October, Johannesburg Pride usually spans a week or more, featuring a diverse range of events and activities. These typically include educational workshops, art exhibitions, film screenings, live music, drag shows, and panel discussions, among other things. The festivities culminate in a vibrant and colourful pride parade, which sees participants marching through the streets of Johannesburg, celebrating their identities and promoting LGBTQ+ visibility.
