About this Event
Artist and composer Joe Namy’s work explores the connections between culture, memory, and power structures, focusing on how sound, music, and other aesthetic forms resonate within a complex geopolitical landscape. Join curator Cora Fisher for an in-depth walk-through of Joe Namy’s exhibition at the Brooklyn Public Library, where sculpture, sound, and video works explore themes of migration, identity, and the positive forces of love and social justice. Fisher will discuss strategies for multi-sensory, accessible, and multilingual exhibition-making for audiences of all ages to create more inclusive art spaces.
Organized by Fine Arts Civic Engagement Fellow, Alex Strada
Please meet Alex at the front entrance of the Brooklyn Public Library (10 Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn) at 9:50am. The event will take place from 10-11:15am (off campus) on Oct. 11, 2024.
