Join SafeNest for a nonpartisan Town Hall Series featuring Nevada candidates for Governor and Attorney General. Each Town Hall will focus on domestic and sexual violence in Southern Nevada, addressing prevention, funding, offender accountability, access to services, and the policies needed to strengthen Nevada’s response.
As voters prepare for the November election, these public Town Halls will provide Southern Nevadans with an important opportunity to hear directly from the candidates about how they will prioritize these issues, protect survivors, and help build a safer Nevada.
This moderated Town Hall will focus exclusively on issues related to domestic and sexual violence; questions outside this scope will not be considered. To submit a question for consideration, please include it on this form. Attendees will also have an opportunity to submit questions at the event. Respectful audience participation is encouraged and welcomed.
About Joe Lombardo:
Governor Joe Lombardo was born into a military family and settled in Las Vegas when his father was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base. He attended Rancho High School and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. After graduating, he served in the United States Army and in the Nevada National Guard.
Following his military service, Governor Lombardo joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), where he quickly rose through the ranks and served on nearly every level of LVMPD, from detective to assistant sheriff. For 26 years on the force, Governor Lombardo fought crime, protected millions of visitors, and kept Nevada families safe. He then was elected to serve as Sheriff of Clark County in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. As Sheriff of Nevada’s largest county, he oversaw a $1.3 billion dollar budget, managed 6,000 employees, tackled complex public-safety challenges, and led LVMPD’s efforts to protect millions of residents and visitors each day.
Governor Lombardo was elected as Nevada’s 31st Governor in November 2022 and sworn into office in January 2023, the only Republican in the nation to flip a governor’s seat that year, defeating a sitting Democratic incumbent, something that hadn’t happened in Nevada in decades.
Governor Lombardo brought real-world leadership to the Governor’s Office, shaped by his service in the military, law enforcement, and as Sheriff.
Beyond public service, Joe Lombardo’s greatest pride is his family: his wife, First Lady Donna Lombardo, their children Morgan, Lacey, and Jackson, and his grandson, Theodore.
As Governor, he has a record of delivering results: signing the Nevada Housing Access and Attainability Act, reforming government to be more efficient, cutting and streamlining more than 900 burdensome regulations, creating over 10,000 new jobs, delivering the single largest education investment in state history - $2 billion dollars in new funding, reaffirming Nevada is not a sanctuary state, and more. His administration has made real progress, but there is still unfinished business.
His leadership is guided by the Nevada Way, a concept that as Nevadans if we believe in
ourselves and trust one another to overcome adversity, we shall never fail. With steady leadership and a clear vision, Joe is ready to keep fighting for Nevada’s future and expanding opportunity so families, workers, and communities can thrive.
Seating is limited. Advance registration is required to attend.
