It’s SOOO good to be back hosting concerts here at the Mango Republic!!Our June concert features an amazing, young up and coming Trop Rock Artist. Raise your hand if you’re familiar with Joe Downing….. We don’t see a lot of hands. PERFECT!!! Our goal is to bring very well-known artists, as well as relatively unknown artists, to the “right coast” to share their music and make us smile!
Middletown, Ohio born and Nashville, Tennessee bred, Joe Downing is a Trop Rock Recording Artist and Nashville Songwriter that knows how to Rock & Roll. Downing has released one full length album "Songs From The Gulf" in 2020 as well as 3 EP's over the last decade and has over 12 singles circulating on over a dozen Trop Rock radio stations. His song "YOLO" was nominated for Single of The Year by the Trop Rock Music Association and Joe has been nominated for the 2020 Horizon Award recognizing him as a rising talent in the genre. Joe is also a TRMA Academy Member.
Joe plays all over the country: from St Augustine to Key West, to Chicago and Nashville, to Jacksonville to Los Angeles, Islamorada to Gulf Shores. Downing grew up listening to everything from the Motown sound to the popular recording artists of today. He believes in the theory that great art can inspire great art. He names some of his biggest influences as Sam Cooke, Tom Petty, Jim Croce, Jimmy Buffett and Van Morrison just to name a few. Joe's soulful vocals and his groovy melodies make him an instant hit, no matter the venue. “Whether I’m playing for one person or thousands, I always try to give it my all, so that when the audience walks away, they say: ‘That Joe Downing guy… I’m going to remember him.’”
