Joanna Connor "... a mother, a lover, a singer, a guitarist, an actress and a badass blues woman who can't be subdued", American Blues Scene.Singer and blues guitarist Joanna Connor moved to Chicago in 1984. And while her latest album finds her working with bluesman Joe Bonamassa — and backed by keyboardist Reese Wynans, who performed alongside Stevie Ray Vaughan in Double Trouble — a 35 year connection with influential north side blues club Kingston Mines offered her the rare opportunity to jam with artists like Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page. Performing at Kingston Mines coupled with a residency lasting approximately two decades on the Back Porch stage at House of Blues shows Connor as a great example of the way that, prior to pandemic, club residencies, suburban appearances and summer street fests could all combine to keep Chicago musicians working on a nearly full-time basis.
