„The coolest woman in pop.“ V emotivní písničkářské tvorbě Joan As Police Woman se již necelé dvě dekády potkávají vlivy soulových legend, jako jsou Al Green a Nina Simone, a experimentálních kytarových projektů, za všechny Sonic Youth nebo Bad Brains.
Původně vystudovaná houslistka, která spolupracovala s The Dambuilders, Antony and the Johnsons, Rufusem Wainwrightem, Scissor Sisters, Eltonem Johnem a především se svým partnerem Jeffem Buckleym, Joan As Police Woman rozvířila vody songwriterské scény svým veleúspěšným debutem Real Life v roce 2006. O několik alb a nespočet singlů, EPček a kolaborací později oznamuje ikona zaoceánské pop-rockové scény svůj návrat do Evropy.
V rámci podzimního turné po starém kontinentu poprvé zahraje také v Praze (kde naváže na své předešlé české koncerty na Sázavafestu a Colours of Ostrava), kam přiveze svoji právě oznámenou desátou studiovou desku Lemons, Limes & Orchids. Ta vyjde 20. září u labelu PIAS a magazín UNCUT na ni láká stručně a výstižně slovy “This is breathtakingly good music”. Album předznamenává pilotní singl Long For Ruin.
Joan As Police Woman ve smíchovské továrně zahraje v neděli 20. října.

Koncert podpoří vycházející slovenská hvězda Erika Rein. Ve smíchovské továrně pokřtí svou debutovou desku Kamibe, na níž ve spolupráci s producentem Jonatanem Pastirčákem (Isama Zing, Pjoni) přináší třináct skladeb kombinujících zvukové experimenty s globálním popem, soulem nebo R&B. Album vychází 27. září v kolaboraci labelů Full Moon Forum a Ruka Hore.

For nearly two decades, Joan As Police Woman has been blending the influences of classic soul legends such as Al Green or Nina Simone with vibrant sonic experimentation pioneered by the likes of Sonic Youth and Bad Brains, into a mesmerizing body of work that’s equally emotional and vulnerable as it is powerful and sophisticated.
Originally a professionally trained violinist and a collaborator of The Dambuilders, Antony and the Johnsons, Rufus Wainwright, Scissor Sisters, Elton John and, most notably, her partner Jeff Buckley, Joan only took centre stage in 2006 with her gorgeously heartfelt debut Real Life. Several albums and countless singles, EPs and compilations later, the pop-rock icon is announcing a return to Europe later this year in support of her 10th studio record Lemons, Limes & Orchids, including a premiere show in Prague, following her past festival appearances in the Czech Republic.
The new album releases on September 20th via PIAS and UNCUT magazine sums it up short and sweet: "This is breathtakingly good music". The pilot single Long For Ruin is now available online on all streaming platforms.

Opening the night is the rising Slovakian star Erika Rein. Rein's show at MeetFactory will be Prague's release party for her debut album Kamibe. Made in collaboration with Jonatan Pastirčák (Isama Zing, Pjoni), the records compiles thirteen tracks that fuse sonic experiments with global pop, soul and R&B. The record releases on September 27 via Full Moon Forum & Ruka Hore.
