Jive & Blues Weekend at the Derwent Hotel, Torquay
Friday 7th to Monday 10th May 2027
Come and join us for a long weekend of Modern Jive and Blues by the sea. Three nights, a main ballroom, a Blues room and a lot of dancing with friendly people.
What's on
- Workshops from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday: Modern Jive, Blues and other dance styles. It helps to have some Modern Jive experience, as this weekend isn't suitable for complete beginners.
- Evening dances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:30pm, with Modern Jive in the main ballroom and a Blues room running late into the night.
- A Teachers' Cabaret on Saturday night, and a Saturday night theme of Mystics & Misfits. Fancy dress is optional, so a touch of magic or mischief is plenty.

So far we have Matt Evans & Nele Protze teaching Modern Jive, with more to be announced.
The practical bits
Three nights half board at the Derwent Hotel (breakfast and a three-course evening meal), with all rooms en-suite. You can check in from 3pm on Friday, and you also get access to many of the hotel's leisure facilities, including the swimming pool.
£290 per person sharing if you book by 31 March (£305 from 1 April). £20 deposit per person to book.
