Jim Hammond Trio

The Jim Hammond Trio play high-volume, high-quality rhythm and blues, with more than a hint of rockabilly thrown in for good measure. Jim Hammond is a fine boogie-woogie piano player and a master of rock 'n' roll electric guitar.
Add to that a tight rhythm section in Martin Cox on bass and backing vocals and Mark Morgan on drums and this stripped-back trio serves up some of the finest R'n'B on the circuit.
But don’t take our word for it...
"I've been professional musician for nearly forty years and have been fortunate enough to meet and share the stage with some extremely talented players. I have also met a few that I can only describe as truly gifted. James Hammond without doubt falls into this category. His vocals are outstanding and he excels on both guitar and piano. The honesty and power that he delivers on stage is second to none. I highly recommend that you see him play yourself as soon as possible, you won't be disappointed, I guarantee that!" - Steve West Weston
"Let's be very clear. Jim Hammond is a very fine musician and a pleasure to work with. He played in the house band on my Radio 4 series Getting Nowhere Fast where the music really must set the tone and style almost instantly. Jim's superb Boogie woogie piano on my theme tune - with just a dash of Jerry Lee Lewis in the right hand - hit the spot immediately. Jim's music is rock a billy, boogie boogie and blues, both on guitar, slide guitar and keyboards. He's a great singer too. It's a good old good time music that invites you to get up and dance and have a great party. He plays solo, as a duo, or trio or as a full band and no matter what format he uses, Jim will always give you one hundred per cent great music and a great night. Jim Hammond is highly recommended by me. And I look forward to working with him again very soon." - Mervyn Stutter
"Jim Hammond is without doubt one of the finest honky tonk, boogie woogie, rock and roll musicians on the circuit! A true talent and presence on stage, whether he is schooling his piano like Jerry Lee Lewis or playing bottle neck slide on a varied and beautiful collection of vintage guitars...big gravely voice and tales of years on the road. I've had the pleasure of sharing a stage with him and have the pleasure to call him a good friend too... I highly recommend Jim Hammond to any venue or festivals on my travels and gig circuits." - 'Grizzly' Rhys Morgan Grizzly and the Grasshoppers.
