WEEPING JEFF PRESENTSJIJ (WITH SHIVA MAY CARE & FALLEN NORTH)
Our showcase event of the year takes place at the renowned Star & Garter in Manchester, on 23rd November 2024, featuring three powerhouse bands you'd be a fool to miss.
JiJ
"a breathlessy dynamic love letter to 90's grunge and 80s metal" RGM
A four-piece hard rock band from Stockport, taking influence from the finest riffs of the 70's, power of the 80's and grunge and sludge from the 90's, they're a difficult band to categorise. But rest assured, they'll provide a wall of sound with four-part vocal harmonies and catchy choruses.
Their debut album 'The Dying Light' was released in 2023 to critical acclaim, featuring tracks such as 'Damn This Situation' and 'Dying of the Light' which display some of their finest musicality, to 'Rise' which brings a sense of strength and defiance.
SHIVA MAY CARE
"Shiva May Care gives you all you need in life: energetic, rip-roaring riffing, powerful vocals, and a heavy backbeat to swing your mic to" Craig Young - Backseat Mafia
Manchester riff merchants, SHIVA MAY CARE, are a rock band with distinction; comprised of a culturally diverse group of members and drawing influences from punk, stoner, prog, and shoegaze, the fiery quartet have enough groove and vigor to shake up the dead. The band originally started life back in 2017, but it wasn’t until last year that the four piece finally clicked and solidified. Now with a settled and cemented line-up consisting of Molly Q (Vocals), J3t L4g (Guitars, Backing Vocals), Jake Trendall (Bass, Backing Vocals) and Ilias Nikolaidis (Drums), SHIVA MAY CARE are ready to strike out to the masses.
Their latest single 'Falling Down' is a driving rock anthem, with delicious overdrive, wah for days and a stomping beat. Don't miss this live!
FALLEN NORTH
Another band difficult to place into one rock genre, these veterans of the local music scene have played in various bands and frequented open mic nights over the years. They have a hard rock sound, but with influences across metal, punk, rock and roll, grunge and more.
'Crisis' proves this, featuring riffs that wouldn't sound out of place in a Soundgarden track (or even Metallica), coupled with clean and screamed vocals, a raw sound and some excellent use of cowbell to add to the mix. The chorus is packed with power, reaching a crescendo to finalise the track. Another band not to miss - opening the evening and setting the expectations for the night.
Tickets are £7 plus £1 booking fee.
On the door tickets are £10 and limited - get yours early!
