Since 2021, Diamond Blues, an eclectic group of accomplished musicians passionate about honoring the legacy of Jerry Garcia, have taken New England by storm.
Led by David Rubin on Vocals & Guitar, Diamond Blues features Robbie Parrish on Drums, Ian Brenkle on Bass, Caroline Killoh on Vocals & Keys, and Christopher Belden on Sax and backing vocals. An ensemble capable of furnishing any era of the Jerry Garcia Band story.
DB, as it’s often called by fans, mines their repertoire from the Jerry Garcia Band songbook and blends other fan favorites consistent with the original sound of JGB. Their uniquely crafted setlists touch the entire catalogs of JGB, Legion of Mary/Merl Saunders, and Jerry Garcia Solo, leaving audiences inspired and electrified. DB blends deep cuts with hits that will have you respectfully asking, “why didn’t Jerry play that more often?”
Join Diamond Blues at one of their residencies! Catch them at The Burren in Somerville (the 2nd Sunday of the month) and at The Midway Cafe in JP (4th Wednesday of the month). How sweet it is!
