Sheffield Jewellery Classes - No experience necessary and non-beginners are welcome too.A course for beginners and those wanting to progress and refine jewellery making skills, this 6 week class introduces students to the foundations of metalworking. You'll learn through one on one instruction, occasional group demonstrations and lots of practice while you create your own pieces of jewellery. You will develop skills in sawing, filing and sanding, soldering and polishing as well as other techniques that are relevant to your designs. You'll also be taught how to safely use our tools.
You can start any time! These are rolling sessions and don't have a defined start or end date, you just use your pass to attend 6 classes of your choice.
Classes run weekly at the following times:
Wednesday Evening 6pm-8pm.
Thursday Morning 10am-12 noon.
Thursday Evening 6pm-8pm
Once you have bought your 6 class pass you will be emailed details of how you can make an account and you will be able to book yourself onto the sessions you choose via the events calendar. This 'class pass' gives you access to six, 2 hour classes. You don't have to take 6 sessions consecutively. Take the classes whenever works for you. You don't have to book all of your sessions straight away, if you don't want to (although booking ahead will reserve your place and is preferred). The class pass expires 12 weeks after the date of your first class (not the date you purchase it), unless otherwise agreed with your tutor.
You will have ample time to create a couple of pieces of jewellery for yourself, whilst also meeting some lovely like minded people who are all feeling inspired to learn a new hobby and get creative.
You can take this course more than once without worrying about repeating the same lessons, we will work with you at your level as you continue to develop and produce your jewellery. Many students continue to attend weekly for long periods of time and continue to learn and develop.
Metal costs are not included in the course price as they vary depending on students designs. If you work in silver you can typically expect to pay between £5 and £30 (as a very rough guide) throughout. Usually students start with a silver ring/pendant in session 1+2 and this costs about £5.
If you have any questions, or would just like to chat to our friendly tutor Emmie, please fill out the form below and she'll get back to you!
