Jets, Joy + Veterans: Sky-High Service to Veterans

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Kid + Family Volunteers will create meaningful veteran appreciation projects, including Thank You notes, Christmas ornaments + Stars For Our Troops.

In keeping with the theme, these give-back activities will take place in an airplane hangar at the Pima Air & Space Museum. After completing the project, Kid + Family Volunteers will enjoy free access to explore the Museum.

WHY IS THIS WORK IMPORTANT:

This hands-on volunteer work will benefit both Pima Council on Aging (PCOA) and Old Pueblo Community Services (OPCS).

Pima Council on Aging helps our community members age safely in place through a variety of services, including home-delivered meals, grocery shopping for seniors who can no longer drive, home repair services, caregiver support programs + assistance with healthcare and legal matters.

Old Pueblo Community Services (OPCS) provides housing + supportive services for veterans, individuals + families who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Their mission is to offer pathways to self-sufficiency, recovery + wellness.

KIND NOTES:

This in an in-person, indoor event.

• All supplies will be provided.
• A takeaway snack will be provided for the Kid Volunteers at the completion of the project.
• Stay tuned for additional details to help you prepare for the day!

Kid + Family Volunteers will have {free} access to the Museum following completion of the project. Museum access is included as part of the registration fee.

WHY YOU'LL BE ASKED TO PAY A FAMILY REGISTRATION FEE:

Our small family registration fee enables Tucson Family Volunteers, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to offset volunteer costs for this event. We do the planning, coordinating + buying of supplies (and snacks!) for all volunteer projects so that your family can just sign up, volunteer + have fun!

If you have to cancel your registration later, please know that your fee will go toward our efforts to create more give-back kindness projects for our kids, families + non-profit partners.
