JEST ASIANS - Asian comedy night by Humor Section (Lab Edition)

JEST ASIANS: Lab Edition is the small-room, experimental sister show of JEST ASIANS — All-Pro Asian Comedy Showcase, first co-presented by Humor Section and Asia Society New York.

While the Asia Society edition brought a polished lineup of top Asian comedians to one of NYC’s leading cultural institutions, the Lab Edition creates a more intimate and playful space at PARTEA LAB — a room for fresh jokes, new ideas, and close-up audience energy. But “experimental” does not mean random: every show is still carefully curated, featuring comedians with strong voices, real credits, and material worth developing.

The show is produced by Humor Section, a comedy brand founded in Beijing in 2013 and now based in New York. As one of the early forces in China’s stand-up comedy scene, Humor Section helped build a platform for a new generation of comedians, and now continues its mission in the U.S.: advancing Asian comedians on the global stage.

Tony Chou (Host & Producer)

Tony Chou is one of the very few native Chinese comedians touring the world performing stand-up in English. Based in New York, he has performed across the U.S., China, the U.K., Australia, and Southeast Asia. He is the co-founder of The Humor Section, a comedy platform launched in Beijing by Des Bishop in 2013, and previously co-hosted the hit late-night show The Vicious Liang Huan Show. His work has been featured by major media including the BBC, CNN, The Atlantic and more.
