We are very excited to announce the first of what we hear at Jesse’s Basement hope will be many mini-fests we’re calling Capital Radio Day. The goal with these fests is to bring as many subgenres of punk under one roof and create a broader community. I know I speak for the rest of the Jesse’s Basement team when I say, when a scene is full of disparate little scenes, no one wins. Hopefully we can help build something bigger, more cohesive, and ultimately more exciting to be a part of as opposed apart from. We’ll be going live in Olympia, Washington on June 29, 2024 at Wild Man Brewing Gastropub which is a great little spot in downtown Olympia with both a big heart and a big room with ample space for bands, merch, and hopefully a couple of booths with crafts and zines.Music-wise, we were able to curate a mix of new and established bands that represent a mix of ages, gender identities, races, and of course genres. We’ll have hardcore, post-punk, proto-punk, party punk, indie punk, post-hardcore, and good old fashioned punk rock.
