Looking forward to sharing a stage again with our Boston brother Jesse Ahern! One of Beantown’s absolute finest troubadours and individuals, Jesse spent last year touring the world with Dropkick Murphys & the Rumjacks, and has recently been in the studio laying down a fresh batch of reflections upon working class struggles, punk rock fatherhood, and persistent hope.
I have two of his records, and they’re both fantastic. However this dude’s real magic in my opinion comes from his live performances. They’re equal parts urgency, joy, sadness, contemplation, and catharsis. I can honestly say I haven’t seen anyone hold a room like he does in I don’t know how long. Wasn’t sure it was even possible anymore to get people to care so much.
Think Woody Guthrie, early Springsteen, & later Strummer…Rebel songs for regular folks. The lovely & talented MJ Bones will be opening the show at 8pm and her singing voice is truly something to behold. Hope to see y’all there!
