Jess & the Joyful Noise was formed in 2015 after Georgia native, Jessica Holloway, relocated to Denver and met like minded musicians in Keith Hicks and Jake Herman, and has since grown to be one of Denver's most beloved local rock bands. Melding the heart of southern soul with the free-spirited sensibilities of Colorado's jam-rock scene, J&tJN has crafted unique sound that is best described as a crispy-fried, funky blend of sonic ingredients that lifts your spirits and moves your bones!
In 2018 the lineup solidified with multi-instrumentalist Matt Rossmann holding down the bass position. Now a tight-knit quartet, each member of J&tJN contributes to the classic and signature sound that the band is known for: Jessica Holloway ignites the stage with her passionate vocals and scorching organ artistry, adding an electrifying and inspiring dimension to the show. Keith Hicks' adds high-spirited guitar work and robust vocals — paying homage to past masters and striving to forge new ground through an eclectic amalgamation of styles. Matt Rossmann holds down the low end with tasteful and groovy basslines, but is also known to grace the stage with expert trumpet work! And to complete the lineup, Jake Herman's dynamic percussion stylings fuse a diverse range of rhythmic influences into a robust and propulsive rock experience.
Over the years J&tJN has cut their teeth in Denver and the surrounding mountain towns sharing bills with such luminaries as Marcus King, Jerry Joseph, Jeff Austin, Joey Porter, and The New Orleans Suspects, while playing classic Colorado venues including Cervantes, Quixote's, Shakedown Bar, Schmiggity's, Ullr's, and many others. Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, the band released their debut full-length album in 2020, and their creative fire only continues to blaze! Having recently released a brand new original and their debut live album J&tJN is firing on all cylinders and looking to light up stages across Colorado and the U.S. as a whole!
