Join us as we build community over light bites, drink, live music and recognize exemplary people and preservation projects in Jersey City. As a nonprofit with an all volunteer board, this annual gala and awards ceremony helps the JCLC raise funds to support our ongoing efforts and programing.

We are celbrating 27 years! Our 2026 event is an opportunity to forge meaningful connections and build relationships with individuals who value organizations that give back to the community. You’ll be in the company of influential community members, key stakeholders, and those who share a passion for Jersey City’s heritage.

About Us:

The JCLC was founded in 1999 as Jersey City’s not-for-profit, all volunteer community organization that promotes awareness and engagement to preserve historic spaces, diverse cultures, and the environmental integrity of Jersey City. We build community through our programming and tours.

Support from our sponsors and donors last year enabled us to amplify our Save the Powerhouse campaign, add more events to our 2026 programming, including 16 of our signature architecture and history walking tours, Preservation Month programing and presense at various communtiy events. We incorporated youth activities into our programming, including coloring packets, treasure hunts and trivia.

We added these while building on our day-to-day initiatives to protect historic sites, and support residents and community groups in advocating to preserve and share the history and character of their neighborhoods.
