Grammy-nominated vibraphonist Jerry Tachoir brings his acclaimed quartet back to the Jazz Cave for a very special night -- his 71st birthday.

A Nashville institution, Tachoir is one of the most accomplished mallet artists in contemporary jazz. A graduate of Berklee College of Music -- where he was the first student to earn a bachelor's degree in applied vibraphone and marimba -- he later pursued advanced study at the Paris Conservatory. He has performed at major jazz festivals and concert halls across the United States, Canada, and Europe, including the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival, and has presented improvisation clinics and mallet master classes at colleges and universities worldwide. He is the author of "A Contemporary Mallet Method," a widely used instructional text required at several major music schools, and an artist-clinician for the Tama/Bergerault company.

The Jerry Tachoir Group is led by Jerry on vibraphone and marimba alongside his wife and collaborator, pianist and composer Marlene Tachoir, bassist Roy Vogt, and drummer Rich Adams. The group performs original music and has been described as "highly original contemporary jazz with dazzling improvisations by virtuoso musicians" by The Times.

This show is likely to sell out. Don't miss this birthday celebration.
