PNB Celebrates Jerome Robbins

On the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of Broadway and Tinseltown's brightest artists -- winner of five Tonys, two Oscars and a Kennedy Center Honor -- the Pacific Northwest Ballet pays tribute to director-choreographer Jerome Robbins. Artistic Director Peter Boal's picked seven iconic works to be performed in alternating repertory, focusing on Robbins' beautiful ballets, including Chopin's "In the Night" and "Dances at a Gathering", Debussy's "Afternoon of a Faun" and of course, the famed "West Side Story Suite". Though Robbins is well-known for his work on the Great White Way, with credits like "Fiddler on the Roof, The King and I, Gypsy, On the Town, Peter Pan" and "West Side Story", he also made a significant stylistic impact on classical dance at Balanchine's New York City Ballet, where he created more than 30 works. Experience Robbins' enduring genius through the Pacific Northwest Ballet at Seattle's McCaw Hall.
