Jeremy Booth & Brock DeBoer: dual exhibition openings at Square One Gallery

Square One Gallery is pleased to invite you to the dual opening receptions of artist Jeremy Booth's solo exhibition "Sweat & Blood", and artist Brock DeBoer's solo exhibition "No Bull". Both exhibitions open at Square One Gallery Friday February 7th from 6-9pm, and will be on view from February 7th - March 7th, 2025

Jeremy Booth: "Sweat & Blood"

Kentucky-based artist Jeremy Booth boldly captures the essence of the Wild West with daring minimalism in his art. Focused primarily on iconic cowboys and Western landscapes, his work embodies the spirit of resilience and adventure inherent in the Wild West. His bold and minimal style captures the West in a cinematic, colorful, and surprising manner. Through his modern portrayal of the West, Jeremy seeks to honor and celebrate the figures and lifestyles he paints. The cowboy lifestyle, with its honesty, hard work, and simplicity, resonates deeply with his audience, creating a strong connection through his work and his process.

Jeremy's journey began many years ago as a commercial artist with representation worldwide. He worked with esteemed clients like Apple, Warby Parker, MLB, and British GQ. A few years ago, he made a bold decision to shift his focus to fine art, a move that led him to the Western motif and a new chapter in his career. His work has been featured and sold in Christie's esteemed auction house. Notable clients include Wrangler, Nike, Apple, Warby Parker, and British GQ.

As an artist that practices in both physical and digital mediums, Booth’s process begins on ranches throughout the west, using photography to capture the intimate moments of cowboy life. Transforming these scenes into his own artistic voice, he takes his imagery off-screen and into the physical world through vivid and pictorial compositions that highlight his subjects in a contemporary manner.

Brock DeBoer: "No Bull"

Brock DeBoer’s artistic process as a ceramic sculptor utilizes porcelain, historical motifs and surface treatments to recontextualize everyday objects, items from his past, and objects of popular culture. Many are highly nostalgic to his generation and beyond touching on many facets of everyday life. DeBoer’s highly crafted casts in porcelain become archival, altering their permanence while questioning the value of these everyday objects. DeBoer draws influence from his midwestern upbringing combined with the ever-changing and vastly diverse landscape of Los Angeles and the rural landscape of Joshua Tree.

Using his extensive knowledge of ceramic materials and processes DeBoer brings his sculptures a new life becoming heirlooms of the 21st century. By using classical motifs of cobalt patterns and true to life finishes DeBoer’s casts become suspended somewhere in the past and disguised in the present.
