-------------------------------------------------

Step back in time to 1851, where magic-making Impresario P. T. Barnum has introduced "Lindomania" to the United States. He has scheduled an almost 100-performance concert tour across the country for "The Swedish Nightingale" Jenny Lind, the Victorian era's most famous operatic soprano. Barnum auctioned off tickets to see the opera star to the highest bidder, creating a ticket craze, with seven sell-out concerts in New York City alone! In today's dollars, tickets were as high as $8,000 per person. In the Southeast, Jenny performed concerts to sold-out crowds in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Natchez, Mississippi. Mademoiselle Lind used much of the proceeds from this vastly profitable tour to fund music schools in her native Sweden.

Commissioned by Living History Natchez, this performance was designed to be an added historical decoration to the magnificent antebellum home tours and festivities scheduled for the week of March 9th, 2026. Alabama native performers look to give this historical recreation concert for family and friends in Birmingham before departing for Natchez in March to display their talents for a large audience at Jefferson Street Baptist Church on March 12, 2026. This concert will be a star in the crown of a week dripping with elegant historical charm and experiences. Learn more at https://www.livinghistorynatchez.com/tourevent-tickets.

Repertoire will include songs and arias by Mozart, Verdi, Rameau, Handel, Schubert, Schumann, Rossini, and more!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, come one, come all, to see the amazing Mademoiselle Jenny Lind!
