Join us for a literary evening celebrating the world-renowned voice of German author and 2024 International Booker Prize winner, Jenny Erpenbeck. This unforgettable event offers a rare glimpse into the creative mind behind some of contemporary literature's most thought-provoking stories.

The conversation will be moderated by Rinkoo Ramchandani, advisor to the Hong Kong International Literary Festival and an active member of Hong Kong’s writing community.

Brought to you in collaboration with Asia Society Hong Kong and the Hong Kong International Literary Festival, with support from Goethe-Institut Hong Kong and Bookazine.

JENNY ERPENBECK:

Winner of the International Booker Prize 2024 for Kairos.

Born in East Berlin in 1967, she is an opera director, playwright, and award-winning novelist.

In 1999 her literary debut, the novella Geschichte vom alten Kind (The old child), was published, followed by several short stories and novels including Heimsuchung (Visitation), Allter Tage Abend (The end of days), and Ging, Gehen, Gegangen (Go, Went, Gone).

She has been awarded numerous prizes for her literary work, including the Thomas Mann Prize, the Premio Strega, and the International Booker Prize for her most recent novel KAIROS.

Jenny Erpenbeck’s books have been translated into more than 30 languages.
