Acclaimed jazz vocalist Jenna Mammina will perform on Sunday afternoon, October 19, at 4 p.m., at the Sanctuary Concert Series hosted by the Unitarian Universalists of Petaluma. She will be accompanied by pianist Paul Kemp. From Jazziz Magazine: "Jenna Mammina has been recognized as one of the leading women of jazz/pop crossover for three years in a row by Jazziz magazine. What? You haven’t heard of her. She’s performed with luminaries like Ricki Lee Jones, Bobby McFerrin, Al Jarreau, David Sanborn, Phish, and Rosemary Clooney, but you still may not have heard her name. She does about 200 concerts a year and has appeared at Yoshi’s in Oakland, SFJAZZ, and at noted festivals like JazzAspen and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival."
Providing an opening set will be an all-star jazz trio headed up by piano phenomenon Neal Angelo Fontanto, along with Tony Blake on drums, and bassist Michael Borse.
The series highlights the work of the Sanctuary Coalition of Sonoma County, defending our migrant neighbors from deportation threats.
$20 suggested donation. All proceeds go to the musicians.
Doors open at 3:30 for this 4-6 pm concert.
