Commissioned and released by ABC Jazz, 'Grief, Hope, Love' is a suite of 6 songs composed by Jenna Cave in the twelve months after the suicide of her husband in 2022.
With themes of hope and resilience in the face of loss and despair, these songs became an outlet for Cave to articulate, process and express her raw emotional states during the early stages of grief, including her sheer gratitude for the love and joy that still existed alongside her pain. To record these uniquely poignant songs, Cave brought together six of Australia’s finest jazz artists including vocalist Kristin Berardi.
𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐧 𝐊𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 (𝐕𝐈𝐂):
Quinn Knight is an emerging drummer and composer from Melbourne. Quinn frequently plays alongside Melbourne’s leading improvisers, such as Julien Wilson and Ray Pereira among others, and also collaborates with some of Melbourne’s most exciting up and coming talent, including Mia Barham, Dean Kalaitzidis and Caleb Wilson.
For this performance, Quinn brings together his own trio (personnel TBC), to present a set of original music composed over the last 12 months.
