JEM FINER
Jem Finer is a musician, composer, artist and a cofounder of The Pogues. Primarily a banjoist with them, he played a wide range of other instruments and co-wrote several of their songs. Aside from Shane MacGowan, who he wrote Fairytale of New York with, among other songs, Jem was their most prolific composer. Other hits included The Irish Rover with The Dubliners and Fiesta. He appeared on all the band's albums until their breakup and on Shane's solo album The Snake and The Levellers' third, later working in a variety of fields, including photography, film, experimental music and installations. From January 1st 2000, he launched Longplayer, a self-extending piece, designed to continue for 1000 years, from January 1st 2000.
GAIL PORTER
Gail Porter is a television presenter who became a household name in the nineties, due to appearances on Fully Booked and Live & Kicking. She also appeared on shows such as The Big Breakfast and Top of the Pops, presenting eighteen of its episodes. In 2015, she took part in Celebrity Big Brother and from 2022, hosted the series Spooked Scotland. Gail won the BAFTA Scotland 2020 Single Documentary Award for the BBC programme Being Gail Porter. It focused on her mental health issues and alopecia, which resulted in the loss of her hair. Recently, Gail ventured into comedy and toured the UK with a standup show, Hung Drawn and Portered. She supports a number of charitable causes and is an inspiration to many people.
