Jeff Schlanger musicWitness: His Life, His Work, His Passion
About this Event
Arts for Art invites you to a memorial gathering celebrating the life, work, and passion of Jeff Schlanger 🌀 musicWitness.
For decades, Jeff was a vital presence in New York’s creative improvised music community. Through his two-handed musicWitness paintings, he transformed live music into color, line, and movement, creating visual records of performances as they unfolded. His paintings and sculptures were part of every Vision Festival since its beginning in 1996.
This evening brings together musicians, poets, artists, filmmakers, friends, and family for music, film, poetry, projections, and reflections celebrating Jeff’s life and creative legacy.
Co-presented with The Clemente, in partnership with El Taller Latino Americano.
Free entry. Doors open at 6 PM; program begins at 6:30 PM.
