A new chapter is opening for acclaimed Americana troubadour Jeff Crosby. He's finding fresh inspiration in dividing his time between his native Idaho and Texas, cowriting with friends in both places, and from stories gathered in chance encounters while playing some two hundred shows a year across Europe and America.
"My goal right now is to really encompass the feeling of the mountains of Idaho and the Hill Country in Texas. That's the sound that we're trying to steep ourselves in."
Described by Saving Country Music as "an important character in the alt-country, Americana, and independent country realm," Crosby has been a perennial road dog since his 2010 debut album. Raised in a sleepy Idaho mountain town, he had spells in Los Angeles (where two of his songs on FX crime drama Sons of Anarchy first brought him global attention) and Nashville before a stint as guitarist for alt-country luminaries Reckless Kelly brought him to Austin, where the scene and sound have seeped into his solo work. His travels have embroidered his songwriting, rooted in the likes of Tom Petty and Jackson Browne, with influences including Todd Snider, Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell, and Robert Earl Keen.
As ever, Crosby will be touring hard behind his new releases, but with more focus on the Pacific Northwest, the Rockies, and the "Red Dirt" circuit down into Texas – landscapes in which his music has both been created and seems to resonate most profoundly with listeners. With such an extensive discography to draw upon, he seldom plays the same set twice, making his shows all the more attractive even when he swings back through the same town.
Crosby's band comprises fellow Idahoans Matt Fabbi (bass/vocals), Rider Soran (guitar/pedal steel), and Wade Ronsse (drums). "There's just something about the Idaho guys," he explained. "I've put together bands in Nashville and L.A., but I always end up coming back to these guys. We've been together eight years and have this chemistry that's hard to get away from."
And for all of his fresh approaches and inspirations, Jeff Crosby remains happily anchored in timeless songcraft, organic imagery, and a lived-in voice that oozes authenticity.
"I don't think it'll be too much of a shock for anyone. It'll be a nice change but not so much of a change where it'll feel unfamiliar. I'm excited about it."

If you select a table with more seats than the size of your party, there is a possibility that your reservation may be moved to a table that more appropriately accommodates your party size. Any such move will remain within the General or Preferred section originally selected and will be to a table of equal or greater price value. Preferred seating will not be downgraded to General seating.

With the purchase of a ticket, Sapphire guests are eligible for The Riverside Hotel's "Sapphire Getaway" for $179 + tax. This rate is available for the night of the Sapphire Room show and includes a standard hotel room (double occupancy) and breakfast for two the following morning.
