About the Event:
Pianist Jef Neve (BE) and trumpeter Teus Nobel (NL) have both been an indispensable part of the international jazz landscape for years. In addition to many projects under their own name, they have travelled around the world together several times in recent years. On stages and festivals in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Canada, Japan and Australia, the audience visibly enjoyed the playing pleasure of these two true musical animals to the fullest.
The smooth interplay and pleasure from this long series of concerts have now resulted in a long-awaited duo album, which was consciously recorded live - with the audience present. You will hear a mix of their own compositions and jazz classics with the title track ‘Esho Funi’: a composition by Teus around the Japanese theme of unity between yourself and your environment. And the gentlemen demonstrate this absolute connection like no other. The album will be presented during an extensive tour at home and abroad, during which they will continuously challenge each other musically. Add to this the entertaining anecdotes of these verbally strong gentlemen and you have the recipe for a wonderful night out!
