JCC East Bay Rosh Chodesh Circle

Join us this Rosh Chodesh with the JCC East Bay as we hold a reflective reading and writing workshop led by Gahl Pratt Pardes, a writer from the Negev and current Stegner Fellow in creative writing at Stanford University.

This time of year is weighted towards difficult memory. Yom HaZikaron (Israeli Memorial Day) falls on the 5th of Iyyar. And this month's Rosh Chodesh meeting happens to fall on Yom HaShoah (Israel's Holocaust Remembrance Day). Through deep reading of poems by the 20th century poets Avot Yeshurun and Zelda, and a subsequent generative writing workshop, we will delve into the act of holding and giving language to communal memory, grief, and hope.

• JCC East Bay's Rosh Chodesh Circle is a gender-non specific gathering. This gathering is envisioned for folks in their 40-50s, however all are welcome to join!
