JazzBuffalo proudly presents "Swinging Cool," an exciting new jazz program that pays tribute to the iconic era of swing and cool jazz. Drawing inspiration from legendary artists like Anita O'Day, Chris Connor, June Christy, Julie London, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Dinah Washington, Carmen McRae, and more, the presentation of a seamless blend of rhythm and melodic swing will transport you to a time when jazz was at its most elegant and coolness - yet performed with a contemporary flair that makes it fresh and relevant today.
The program will introduce a refreshing and exceptional lineup—Elliot Sneider on piano, Simon Fletcher on guitar, Mary DiCioccio on bass, Abdul-Rahman Qadir on drums, Tony Zambito on percussion, and the introductory debut of emerging jazz vocalist Vanessa Vacanti—this special program promises to deliver a captivating evening of swinging cool jazz.
Don't miss this unique event that brings the cool and swinging vibes of a bygone era to life. Join us for a night of community, friendship, captivating music, discovery of fresh new talent, and swinging cool jazz!
