Jazzbois Live In Barcelona

Jazzbois is a jazz-hiphop fusion trio from Budapest, Hungary. Their studio albums and live shows are all equally heavily rooted in improvisation and momentary self expression, each performance is absolutely unique and daring. The debut album "Jazzbois Goes Blunt" had a strong impact on both the jazz and hip-hop scene and had countless air plays on stations like Soulection Radio, KCRW, BBC 2, BBC 6, Worldwide FM… Their latest album 'Still Blunted' came after performing at the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival last summer. The trio then sold out venues around Europe (including the Jazz Cafe London) on their last headline tour in the autumn of 2024.

Late-night jams in their new studio see Jazzbois return to their beat-tape roots on Still Blunted 

Having established themselves as one of the leading live bands in Europe, grooving to improvised jazz motifs and hip-hop beats, Budapest trio Jazzbois return with their fourth LP, Still Blunted, which sees them touch base with their beat-tape roots.

Now situated in the heart of Buda at their new studio above a club, the Hungarian trio of Bencze Molnár (Rhodes/synth), Viktor Sági (bass) and Tamás Czirják (drums) take a more considered approach to Still Blunted and offer a snapshot into the jams, sessions, and shows they have played over the past year. The new album was released after the band performed at the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival this summer, but before they sold out The Jazz Cafe, London, and three more venues (Paris, Antwerp, Utrecht) on their album release tour in October 2024.

From local beginnings, their music was picked up on multiple editorial playlists on Spotify & Apple Music, resulting in millions of streams. But it’s offline, live on stage, where the project comes alive. As all their songs are recorded in the moment and edited in post-production, they have to be learnt again. Live, they never play anything the same way twice, often dropping in motifs and riffs from some jazz classics. For their bigger shows, DomBeats joins them on sax & flute, adding yet more energy and power to their performances.  

With more releases in the pipeline and with live dates piling up, Jazzbois are clearly in the ascendance. Just three musicians, three instruments, and possessing some serious musical clout, a sure-winner for jazz-heads, new and old.
