This week, we welcome Tyler Bassett (voice), Harvie S. (bass), Eric Stern (piano), Eric Zeller (drums).

About Tyler Bassett
Tyler Bassett is a versatile vocalist, pianist, composer, arranger, and educator from Oregon. With a smooth, velvety voice and captivating stage presence, Tyler has made significant strides in the jazz world since relocating to New York. Starting out as a self-taught saxophonist, he earned several state-level awards before deciding to sing full time. A graduate of The New School and Manhattan School of Music, Tyler went on to perform at venues across the country. A standout moment in his early career came when he was a featured soloist in a tribute to Jon Hendricks, performing alongside jazz luminaries like Kurt Elling and Nancy King. In addition to his vocal feats, his original big band composition "You Made A Poet" was selected for a live performance at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola in 2024. Tyler is currently performing and teaching in New York City.
About Eric Stern
Eric Stern is a 23-year-old jazz pianist from Brooklyn known for his dynamic, high-energy playing, described by BroadwayWorld as "keyboarding more like surfboarding, wave after wave at breakneck speed." Eric is passionate about the transformative power of music and is currently performing with acclaimed bassist John Benitez and the mambo band Carabali. He also headlined the Jersey City Latin Jazz Festival and participated in the 25th-anniversary production of Retumba la Roka. Eric also played with trumpeter Kellin Hanas at the Music Mountain Village Festival.
As a leader, Eric fronts both a quintet and a trio, which have performed at venues such as Chelsea Table + Stage, ShapeShifter Lab, and Culture Lab LIC. His trio also toured Florida earlier this year.
Eric earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and is currently pursuing graduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music, where he studies with renowned pianist Ted Rosenthal. His work continues to captivate audiences with its energy and creativity.
About Harvie S
Harvie S is a legendary jazz bassist known for his virtuosic technique and dynamic playing. Originally a pianist, he switched to bass at 18 and quickly became a prominent figure in the jazz world. Throughout his illustrious career, Harvie has collaborated with jazz icons such as Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Tony Bennett, Michael Brecker, and Pat Metheny, among many others. His own recordings, including his trio albums with Alan Broadbent and his duo work with Sheila Jordan, have garnered critical acclaim. In 2022, Harvie released multiple projects, including Wondering with Roni Ben-Hur and Sylvia Cuenca, and Live at Mezzrow with Sheila Jordan. His extensive discography spans over 400 albums as a sideman, and he continues to release new music, with upcoming projects from Karrin Allison and Sheila Jordan. In addition to performing, Harvie S is a professor at the Manhattan School of Music, where he teaches jazz bass and ensemble.
About Eric Zeller
Eric Zeller is a dynamic drummer, composer, and educator based in New
Y ork City. Hailing from Edmonton, Canada, Eric moved to New Y ork City to
attend the Manhattan School of Music on scholarship. He has played most notably
with award-winning musicians such as P .J. Perry, Chris Andrews, Rubim
DeToledo, Paul Johnston, Emanuele Basentini, Alex Hoffman, Jeff Mcgregor, Kent
Sangster, Craig Brenan, and Jacob Do. As a composer/bandleader, Eric has
presented his music to venues in Canada and the United States in clubs such as the
Y ardbird Suite (the oldest volunteer-run Jazz club in North America) and festivals
such as the Edmonton and Calgary International Jazz Festivals.
