This week, we welcome Ron Jackson, Zach Adleman, and Dishan Harper.

About Ron Jackson:

With over 135K followers, Ron Jackson is a world-renowned seven-string jazz guitarist, composer, and educator. He has performed, recorded, and taught in 30+ countries and recently produced, composed, and played on Kevin Powell’s GRAMMY®-nominated album, Grocery Shopping With My Mother. A prolific recording artist, Jackson has released over 10 albums as a leader, including his 1992 debut It’s A Guitar Thing and his 2022 T op 10 JazzWeek hit, Standards And My Songs. One of the few masters of six- and seven-string jazz guitar, he’s performed at top festivals like North Sea Jazz, Edinburgh Jazz, and Super Jazz Ashdod. A 2022 South Arts JazzRoad Grant recipient, Jackson is a regular at NYC venues such as The Django, Birdland, and Zinc Bar.

About Zach Adleman:

Zach is a NYC-based drummer who began playing at age 6 in Montclair, NJ, inspired by his

musical family. At 10, he joined Drums of Thunder, performing at venues like Madison

Square Garden. Zach found his passion for jazz through Jazz House Kids and the Jazz at

Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra, later earning a Bachelor’s in Jazz Performance from

Michigan State University and a Master’s from Juilliard.

He’s performed with Wynton Marsalis, Rodney Whitaker, and Randy Brecker at Carnegie

Hall, Newport Jazz Festival, and more. A GRAMMY winner for T ed Nash’s Presidential

Suite, Zach also recorded with Michael Dease and co-led the Becoming Quintet.

An award-winning educator, Zach teaches at Calhoun, Jazz House Kids, and Stanford

Jazz. As a bandleader and collaborator, he’s premiered original works at major festivals,

combining music, film, and dance to inspire and bring joy through his art.

About Dishan Harper:

an Atlanta-born bassist, discovered the upright bass in his freshman year at North Atlanta

High School’s Center for the Performing Arts. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Jazz

Studies at Georgia State University under Robert Dickson’s guidance.

Jazz runs deep in Dishan’s family—his father, Danny Harper, is a professional trumpeter

and composer, and his mother, T erry Harper, is a pianist and vocalist with credits including

The Neighborhood Arts Ensemble.

Dishan has performed with notable musicians such as Russell Gunn, George Cables,

Doug Carn, and Philip and Winard Harper. In 2015, he toured South America with Emory

University’s Jazz Ensemble, directed by Gary Motley. More recently, in 2023, he toured

Europe with the Steve Turre Sextet.

A passionate and skilled musician, Dishan Harper continues to make his mark on the

global jazz scene.
