Headliner – Sarah Hanahan Quartet
Named DownBeat Magazine's 2025 Rising Star Alto Saxophonist, Sarah Hanahan has quickly become one of the most exciting young performers in jazz. Her acclaimed debut album, Among Giants, and performances alongside many of today's jazz legends have established her as one of America's brightest emerging artists.
Special Guest Artist – Butler Knowles
North Carolina bassist, composer, and rising jazz artist Butler Knowles blends traditional jazz with a fresh contemporary style. Having performed in legendary New York jazz clubs and alongside nationally recognized musicians, Butler is one of the region's most exciting young artists.
Introducing the Next Generation of Jazz
The festival opens with Brooks Myrick, a senior at North Moore High School and an award-winning multi-instrumentalist whose primary instruments are saxophone and piano. Brooks is an All-County, All-District, All-State, and Regional Jazz saxophonist and the recipient of the 2024 Picquet Music Scholarship.
Weymouth's Opening Acts program, made possible through the generous support of the Arts Council of Moore County, celebrates the next generation of musicians by giving audiences the opportunity to discover exceptional young talent. This year's Opening Acts performer, Brooks Myrick, is one of Moore County's most accomplished young musicians and represents the bright future of jazz.
