The Jazz Singers’ Jam Night is wildly popular, and for over two decades, since 2001, has become something of a legacy in Brisbane’s cultural heritage. Produced and hosted by its founder, Ingrid James, the JSJNs boast four generations of jazz vocalists from emerging to professionals, to surprise sit-ins from interstate and overseas guest artists.
“The JSJNs always have this vibe about them from the first note to the last. Singers of all levels of experience get up on stage with a professional house band, sing their hearts out and are received with great warmth, humour and encouragement from a thrilled crowd”.
The Jazz Singers’ Jam Nights’ philosophy is to celebrate diversity of the artform; to showcase and cultivate a genuine and generous listening presence between audience and local artists, giving voice to all who are brave enough to explore their own vocal practice and human connection through the art of jazz and improvisation. We value kindness, shared empowerment and community.
