Calling all jazz enthusiasts! We are thrilled to invite talented students to audition for our prestigious Jazz Scholarship. Showcase your skills and passion for jazz in a performance that could lead to exciting educational opportunities.
Cash Prizes!
1st Place - $500
2nd Place - $250
Eligibility:
Students who are seniors in high school, or are currently enrolled in a college or university. Any instrument or vocal performances welcome.
Pieces: Choose one to perform:
"Take the A Train"
"Satin Doll"
"Song For My Father"
Format: Perform with a professional rhythm section. Play the selected piece's melody, take the spotlight with an improvised solo in the second chorus, and conclude with the melody once more.
Preparation: Be ready to count off your tune and clearly communicate the ending with your bandmates.
