Ali Bodycoat needs no introduction to the audience at Jazz Fremantle. She has always been a favourite chanteuse and we are delighted to welcome her back!
Bridgette Allen, born in New Zealand, is renowned as a Jazz and Cabaret artist in the music industry whose professional career has spanned over 40 years and is regarded as a highly experienced performing vocal artist, stage director & producer, film and television, educator and adjudicator with a unique voice in Australian Jazz, interpreting classic jazz standards with a soul and drive only she can deliver. Bridgette paid her dues in Sydney’s busy Club Scene in the 60’s. Her training is in dance, acting and singing coupled with a natural sense of swing. Her life in the USA, bought her in contact with Jazz Royalty, including two of the world’s greatest Jazz Singers, Carmen McRae and Sarah Vaughan from whom much was learned. From Brubeck to Broadway and back only Bridgette can deliver melody and lyrics in her own inimitable and hypnotic style. Mike Nelson is musical director and on piano, Paul Millard plays saxes and flute, Shane Pooley is on bass and Ryan Daunt on drums.
