Jazz @ Noon: Adam Larson at the Blue Room
About this Event
Jazz @ Noon is the Blue Room's free midday set — an hour of world-class live music on the corner of 18th & Vine. This week it's a serious one: saxophonist Adam Larson.
Larson is the kind of player critics run out of superlatives for — the Chicago Tribune's Howard Reich called him "a player for whom the word 'prodigious' was coined." Born in Normal, Illinois, he earned his degrees on full scholarship at the Manhattan School of Music, spent eleven years on the New York scene, and relocated to Kansas City in 2019, where he now teaches at the UMKC Conservatory and the University of Kansas. He's released nine albums as a leader — including the DownBeat-starred "With Love" trilogy that closed with "With Love, From Kansas City" — and tours worldwide as a U.S. State Department "American Music Abroad" artist.
Bring your lunch hour and catch a world-class saxophonist in an intimate room. Free admission — come early.
The Blue Room, 1600 E 18th St, Kansas City, MO 64108. Thursday, July 9 at 12 pm.
