Join us for live jazz and dinner in the North Barn as we honor this iconic genre and its impact on the world of music and beyond. Samirah Evans and Her Handsome Devils will be performing on Friday, February 21st. No tickets are needed to attend the performance.
Samirah Evans’ musical style is heavily influenced by the New Orleans sound where she was one of the city’s most popular and in-demand singers. After moving to her husband’s hometown of Brattleboro as a result of hurricane Katrina, she continued to honor that spirit and energy with the band she assembled, Samirah Evans and Her Handsome Devils.The original group recorded “Hot Club” Live at the Vermont Jazz Center,” and Evans continues to deliver smoking performances of jazz ladled with New Orleans spice together with each incarnation.

This free series is presented in collaboration with the Vermont Jazz Center and is partially funded by the Vermont Arts Council.
