Jazz Nights: Kyra Cioffi Quartet

Kyra Cioffi is a New York-based vocalist and arranger, blending her inventive interpretation of the Great American Songbook with a horn-like command of harmony and rhythm. A 2026 graduate of the Jazz Vocal Performance undergraduate program at William Paterson University, Kyra has studied under the mentorship of David Wong, Carolyn Leonhart, and Bill Charlap. Through their guidance, Kyra has developed a philosophy that challenges the conventional view of a vocalist as merely a song interpreter, cultivating deep harmonic and rhythmic literacy both on the bandstand and beyond. Kyra is the winner of the 2025 New Jersey Jazz Society Competition, the First Runner-Up of the 2026 International Ella Fitzgerald Vocal Competition, and the featured vocalist with the 2026 Jazz at Aspen Snowmass Big Band led by Christian McBride. She has also premiered her original lyrics and arrangements at renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, NJPAC, Chelsea Table & Stage, The Triad Theater, The Duplex, Nublu, and Don’t Tell Mama. Kyra has also shared the stage with celebrated artists, including Kurt Elling, Lizz Wright, Harry Allen, John Pizzarelli, Don Braden, Scott Wendholt, and Bill Crow.
Internationally acclaimed vocalist Alexis Cole - first-runner-up of the 2012 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition - calls Kyra
“a truly special artist — her heartfelt singing, beautiful tone, and inventive improvisation draw you in and make you feel the music deeply. She swings with a real jazz feel that’s both authentic and fresh, never pretentious, always genuine. A rare combination of artistry and sincerity.”
