Jazz Night: Rich Wheeler, Bill McKemy, and Brandon Draper (free show)

The elite “chordless” trio of Rich Wheeler (tenor sax), Bill McKemy (double bass), and Brandon Draper (drums) present a curated evening of pathways and excursions in the post-Ornette freescape. Songs by Monk, Miles and Threadgill will be the jumping off point!

This grouping of instruments allows for expansive and fresh trio interaction that is in turns introspective and intense.

Wheeler, McKemy and Draper are among the region’s most accomplished players, each enjoying numerous performances with Grammy winners and at numerous festivals in the US and abroad.
