On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, an esteemed gathering of musicians, beloved family, and friends will come together to celebrate the musical life of beloved trombonist, Curtis Fowlkes.
The memorial concert will take place at Saint Peter’s Church at 619 Lexington Avenue in New York City. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and runs for two hours. There will be a reception with light refreshments from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The memorial will include performances by Roy Nathanson & The Jazz Passengers featuring Elvis Costello, Steven Bernstein & Millennial Territory Orchestra featuring Catherine Russell, Harriet Tubman, Elliott Sharp, and many, many other notable musicians, all who worked closely with and dearly loved Curtis.
The memorial is organized by Jazz Passengers Music Projects, Inc., with underwriting from the Jazz Foundation and Saint Peter's Church. Streaming will be available on Saint Peter's website and Facebook.
