JAZZ MASTERZ: Erik Leuthäuser & Julius Windisch

German musician Erik Leuthäuser has been a restless force in contemporary jazz music for several years. His latest album “Sucht” (addiction in German) features collaborations with Dexter Francis Mason and Wanja Slavin. It was released on the Berlin label Fun in the Church (2024). Erik Leuthäuser is known for challenging social conventions through gender fluid clothing and is an inspiration to other people for daring to reject traditional masculinity by making self-acceptance fashionable. Almost single-handedly, the singer has created his very own jazz idiom with his singing in German. Erik Leuthäuser integrates the character of the language into his unmistakable sound. With breathtaking intensity, the singer achieves the rare unity of music and lyricism.
